Sunshine, blue skies, dry.
Warming air outside. Please not
Nature’s April fool.

Just when you think spring
Is here, you awake to snow.
Winter yet again.

Awake before dawn,
No idea of weather
Gloom, sun, warm or cold.

Birds sing, air is soft
Sounds outside are muffled, trees
Bloom, announcing spring.

Big flakes fall, more snow
Winter just can not let go
I want spring to come!

Spring. Flowers, birds, warm.
But no. Today is like a
Refrigerator!

The sun tries, she does
To peek around cold gray clouds
Melt unwelcome snow.

Indict the groundhog?
How silly! No rodent knows
When spring will arrive!

Chill of early spring
Warmed by chocolate, tasty,
Beautiful, clever.

Knife-like cold wind stings
My face. Gray skies return, no
Release from winter.
