Waiting at the bank
Unnecessary to be
So complex. I sigh
Waiting for my steak
Such a yummy treat. Am no
Vegetarian.
A flash of bright light
A loud boom, the sound of rain
Awakened early
A day late again
Where does the time go? Hurry
Up for a long wait.
Blue skies fill with clouds.
Air feels heavy, winds pick up.
Spring storms will arrive.
Strange and familiar
New and old, hometown visits
Are never easy
The earth below, a
Haphazard patchwork of shapes
Roads, rivers connect.
Brown hillsides await
Spring to turn them fresh and green
Breathing in new life
Luminous streaks of
Red, orange, purple – fading
To a muted dusk
Searching, packing and
Rearranging, to travel
Across the ocean.
