When lives end, they can

Continue in memory

To give us comfort

The sun will rise each

Day, much the same and yet so

Very much unique.

Lavender clouds with

Streaks of silvery salmon

Announce the sunrise

Places in my dreams.

Familiar yet strange, often

Repeated but changed.

Sunrise, fiery

Splendor. Fierce beauty gives strength

Hope, to meet the day

Night noises, distant

Muffled in the dark, constant

Hum so far away

Cold tonight, icy

Fog hangs among the treetops.

Blurry, Ominous.

Sun everywhere,

Wisps of clouds against the blue

We feel light and bright.

Clouds form pink and blue

Pebbles in the sky. A road

Straight into the light.

The sun was hiding

All along, masked behind cold

Gray fingers of fog

We all wake up, but

Three hours later, I am still up.

Awaiting the dawn.
