6 a m, early
Outside is dark and cold, sound
Building. World waking.

Insomnia comes
Eyes opened wide, restless still
Fractured sleep again

Unsettled – my dreams
Pieces of life, fractured and
Blended, leaving odd
Feelings, as i struggle to
Remember and then forget.

White, white, all is white
The sky above, all the earth
So bright it is dark.

Painful, creaky joints.
Winter cold, moving is hard
Rest, get up again.

Red hearts, chocolate
Roses, romance. But not so
When you are alone.

Train along the track,
Swaying to and fro, carries
Me to lunch with friends.

Even the mundane
Is worth recording, when you
Compose a haiku.

Cold, cold, and clear, sun
Shines above over icy
White snow, I slip, crunch.

Playing catch up, I
Went out to dinner for my
Birthday, oops! Forgot.

On the road again,
Driving through the cold and snow
On our way back home.

Bright sun, snow sparkles
Cold gems are everywhere.
Blue skies are above.

Bright sun melts the snow,
Slushy streets and walks, later
Careful when it freezes.

New England, New York
Buried under ice and snow.
Stay safe and warm, friends.
