Sometimes I worry,
Mostly though, i try to live
Each day as it comes

Pointy ears, blue tongue
Long nose, white face, almond eyes,
Sweet Lily the Pup.

Illness is not a
Battle. My body is not
My enemy. No.

Winning the battle,
When there is no cure means death.
Makes no sense at all.

Too easy to blame
When war is the metaphor
Never blame yourself.

Win/ loose black/white, but
It is not so easy. No.
So much more to learn.

Go to bed early,
Eyes keep closing while writing
Relax and rest time.

Thought i was sleepy
Now i am awake, and a
Dog is in my bed!

Administrative
Day, at end. Time to rest and
Enjoy the evening.

Hook darts in and out,
Yarn loops over and around
Pieces grow and grow

Early morning freeze
Sun shines above frosty trees
Foggy close to ground

Sun sets, dusk arrives
Dense fog rolls in, diffuse light
Illuminates night.

Looking up, i see
The moon, hazy through the fog,
Wearing a halo.

Congratulations
To the USA, working
Together again

So not domestic
Am i, inefficient with
Household tasks, no fun.

Lazy Sunday, we
Are snuggled in bed, happy
To be together

Dried chilies, many
Spices, chocolate, sweet hot
Mole poblano

My fingers are orange
My tongue tingles from tasting
The chiles, yum yum.

Good night, good night, clouds
Cover the stars shining bright
Cold blanket instead.

If you’ve been following my blog, you might know that i decided to write and post at least one haiku per day, for the rest of the year. They won’t all be clever – indeed i am sure that some will be banal and repetitive. Lots are going to be weather related or perhaps about my search for entertaining topics. I guess I will go back and add tags for the topics – at the end of this I’ll have a crapload of haiku(s). And some will quite simply be, crap.

But anyway. Haiku are interesting to me, a highly disorganized person who doesn’t like too much structure. The predictable structure of haiku gives me a framework and within that framework, i have an enormous amount of flexibility to create. It’s very freeing. So i know the boundaries and when i think up a haiku – whoosh! Write and post. I like it.

I’m even considering moving on to lists of things to do, or the evil to-do list. Now that is scary.

Bright white, all so light
Even the sky is so white,
Almost too much light.

Winter can be oh
so dreary, snow, sleet and cold
Just make me weary

I need some sunlight,
And vitamin d, but
First i need a nap.

Too many crazies
Suck out too much energy
Zombie recipe

Casting about for
Haiku subjects, not easy
But i keep writing.

A haiku a day
Keeps the doctor away, and
Helps your mental health
