The blush spreads, warming
As quickly as it appears,
The cool skies return
2 A.M., awake
Eyes open, sleep escapes me.
Still lost in the dark.
Sirens blare, we search
For invaders, finding none.
Just the Swiss testing.
Cold silvery light
Breaks through gray mist, welcome sun
Reduce winter chill.
Haven’t been keeping up
With daily writing. Often life
occupies much space.
Happy to travel
But the dog can’t always come
Makes me very sad.
Watched a whole season
During my flight to London
Really, really good
Mammo, ultra sound
sometimes an MRI, then
a big fat xanax.
In a gray funk, hard
To write haiku. Ideas
Stuck, they fail to flow.
Fog hangs in valleys
Curls through trees. Hiding secrets
To find in the sun.
Flight delayed, waiting
Connection iffy, made it!
Upgrade to business
Two knitting needles,
Cross, loop, cross. Stitches grow. Bright
Tones make me happy.
Sharp knife under shell
Quick twist, shuck. Horseradish sauce
Complements oysters.
Bad estrogen must
Go. I take my pill, joints hurt
Skin dries, hope pill works.
Traveling. Many
Languages, bags large and small
And stories to tell.
Metal skins reflect
Sun diffused by clouds, airplanes
Like toys on a board.
