Blue, orange, yellow sky
Illumination so bright
And so slow to fade.
Clouds reach across the sky
Following the wind in straight
Lines, bottoms flattened.
Modern windmills, two
Arms and a head, endlessly
Spinning round and round.
Leafy canopy
Filters sunlight as we drive
Along ancient roads
Reclaimed land stretches
To the horizon. Green fields,
Cows and sandy dunes.
Clusters of star like
Flowers, brilliant colors perch
On shiny green leaves.
Modern windmills, two
Arms and a head, endlessly
Spinning round and round.
A pink blush lines the
Horizon. Gradual shift
Light to dark, sunset.
Escape the cold rain,
North to sun and warmth, milder
Maritime climate.
Hills become lower
Spaces are wider. The sky
Grows in flatter land.
Gray blue sky, heavy
Layers of clouds cover a
Fiery orange sunset.
Farther north, long slow
Sunset. Colors shift and change –
So much to enjoy.
Eighteen years married.
Not so long, never long enough.
To love forever.
Veins of light split the
Sky, bright flashes bring loud booms.
Lily barks in fright.
Cool mist gives way to
Blue skies, warm sun. I rush to
Find my big straw hat.
